Hi Everyone!
Its time for another round of #SwapItLikeItsHot friends.
If you’re not quite familiar with it, it goes a little something like this: on a budget of $15 or less scour the thrift store, flea market, garage sales, etc. to find something fun, or interesting, or a hot mess to send to someone else. That someone then gets busy painting, sewing, drilling, mounting, whatever and then shares the makeover on their blog. It’s a fun concept and I’m happy to be part of it for a second time.
Alrighty so you’re most likely popping over from Chic Little House so you know my swap buddy this go round was Katrina. Those of you who’ve been with me for a while and follow me on IG know Katrina and I are actually really good friends in real life! We live in the same city and spend lots of time together so this kinda felt like cheating a little. She knows me very well so when I received this wooden bowl from her I’m pretty sure she knew it was gonna become a planter. And if she didn’t, now she does. #surprise
Here’s the thing I’m not super crafty. I can’t sew, don’t draw, have no idea what a Cricut is, don’t scrapbook, can’t crochet, really I could go on…but what I CAN do is paint. And hoard plants. And collect pillows and other gorgeous textiles, but that’s neither here nor there. So when I received this little bowl I knew right away how I wanted to tackle it.
A little spray paint, some washi tape, and a maidenhair fern would do just the trick.
A perfect addition to my growing plant collection.
Now its time to head on over to Allison’s to check out what I sent her and to see how she transformed them. Thank you so much Charlotte for having me again. Until next time loves….

I TOTALLY thought of you when I got my copper bowl from Trisha… I was like, Shavonda would plant that mother OUT. So that’s what I did. 🙂 If you have a magical way to keep maiden hair ferns alive, let me know. I’ve killed every last one I’ve ever bought and now I don’t let myself get them anymore. Whomp whomp. Thanks for playing along again!
xx

Bwahahahah! YESSSS! I love it. and I loved that copper bowl..oh and your marble technique. So So cool. This is actually my first go round with a maidenhair so Ill let you now how it goes. I know ferns typically don’t like tons of light since they are usually found in shady areas along the canopy floor in nature. They grow on the sides of tree trunks under the shade of their branches and leaves so they don’t get tons of direct light. I have him on the mantle right now with gets light, but not direct at all. Thanks so much for having me again. Muah!
Trisha D. @Black and White Obsession says
