Hi Everyone!
Happy Wednesday loves. Alright friend so today is the day we reveal which space we are taking on the this season’s ORC. Last week we left you in suspense and let you know that we would be tackling a room in Carmeon’s house but didn’t say which space. All week we received lots and lots of messages from you with guesses as to which space it will be. So without further adieu drumroll please…..
We are going to be working on Carmeon’s master bedroom and bathroom suite! Yup, you heard it right! We are taking on two spaces for ORC this go round. Now, I gotta tell ya when we were approached about doing it and talk of doing two spaces started being thrown out there I thought she was cuckoo for Coco Puffs! I mean trying to take on one space in 6 weeks is crazy enough! BUT… Carm and I both are pretty much go big or sit the hell down kinda ladies when it comes to design challenges so we were like: let’s do this!
Ok so her bathroom is O RI GI NAL. And I don’t mean the good kind of original either. Like this space hasn’t been touched AT ALL and it literally needs ALL THE THINGS. This will be a full gut renovation and the room will get new everything…tile, shower, vanity, sinks, faucets, flooring, fixtures…EVERYTHING.
We are so excited about the design of this space. The plan is to go very modern with a nod to the midcentury era of her home. Both Carmeon and her husband, Marcus, want their space to feel sleek and a bit minimal. The space is not huge and the current floorplan works so we won’t be changing the layout, but every inch of it will be getting a new look. It will feature deep olive tones (that tile is EVERYTHING) paired with bright white, brass, matte black, and natural wood elements as well. It will also be getting some much needed natural light as well. It’s going to be so good yall.
For her bedroom we are really playing off the existing design, but it’s also be getting a fresh new look. In fact, her bedroom color scheme is what inspired the design of both spaces…
Carm painted the walls a beautiful olive a while back so we are keeping with that vibe but amping things up with a different layout and by bringing in new furniture, lighting, curtains, accessories, etc. The space will, again, feel very sleek and modern and slightly masculine. It will be seeing some construction with the addition a new french door and the popcorn ceilings are going bye bye as well!
Ya’ll…don’t even get me started on those vintage burlwood nightstands paired with that statement bed! I. DIE. We are so fortunate to be working with some amazing sponsors who will be helping us bring this vision to life and we can’t wait to share this process with you.
Ok so as mentioned last week Carm and I are sharing the process of this renovation on both of our blogs so head over to hers now to hear more details from her perspective. And also make sure you check in on all the other featured designer spaces this week.
