Design Obsession: Twin Beds

Hi Everyone!

So here’s the deal.  Our guest bedroom is small. And by small I mean tiny. And by tiny I mean, well you get the picture.  The exact dimensions are 9’10″x 9’10”.  Not even a solid 10×10.  We’ve tried several different layouts with the room, but our options are pretty limited.

Lately I’ve been seeing lots of rooms with twin beds and I’m thinking this may just be the solution for our small guest space.  I know its a bit of a touchy subject with some folks liking them and others being against them.  Naturally, I wonder how couples will feel if they had to stay in a guest room with twin beds instead of a double.  On the other hand, when we do have guests come visit, they tend to come in droves so having twin beds would be advantageous.  The door bell will ring and all of a sudden there’s and extra couple of people “that just happened to catch a ride since ___ was heading this way”.  Family.  Gotta love em.  

All I have to say is this:

Dear guest, 

Thank you so much for choosing to spend time with us here in our home.  We hope your stay is comfortable and pleasing.  There are fresh towels in the closet as well as a place for you to place your luggage and hang your coats.  The kitchen is down the hall, so please help yourself to whatever you’d like.  If you need anything else please let us know.  Oh, and if you find you don’t like and/or want to stay because the twin bed situation bothers you, you are more than welcome to stay at one of the plethora of hotels available to you within the city.

I guess that should tell you how I feel about the situation!  I don’t think Id have an issue staying in any one of these lovely rooms….

Ok, so I know the last picture is definitely NOT for everyone, but I’m quirky like that so I like it.
