Hi Everyone!
Yay! It’s hump day! We’re halfway there, guys. The weekend is within sight.
Speaking of weekends, this past weekend we welcomed our first overnight guest of the year. News of our friends arrival made me get my butt in gear and throw together our guest room.
As I mentioned before this room is tiny-measuring in under 10’x10′. (Note my very futile attempt to take a picture of the space with my cell phone..as I hang my head in shame)
We could never quite figure out the best use of space for it so we deemed it the storage depot for all the things we either had no use for or no idea what to do with. It was a sad sad sight, and a total waste of square footage.
A couple weeks ago I started giving serious consideration to twin beds and, after doing a bit of space planning, realized they would be the most effective way to maximize the square footage. With a plan in place we set out to pull the room together just in time for our friends’ arrival. Its not even remotely done yet, but at least now there’s a place for folks to sleep.
(Please excuse the small snippets of the room. Since the room is small and my lens is fixed and doesn’t have a zoom feature, I can only back up so much without backing out of the room completely)

Wait, did I just hear you say one! So flipping jealous! Can’t wait to see what you do with your spaces!

The room looks good, I like the wall colors. Also I like the brass cart paired with your amazing brass lamp & I like the gold on the luggage rack 🙂 lol Looking forward to seeing your space come together!

PS – Q: What happened to the pretty vintage headboard that was in there before?
Shavonda says
Hey lady. The headboard and footboard are sitting in my hallway now. I’m trying decide what to do with it.

You’re off to a great start! So thoughtful of you to have a comfortable space for your guests. My guests sleep on the couch. LOL! I love the brass cart.
Shavonda says
Funny thing Brandy..our guests still fight over who gets to sleep on the couch! That’s part of the reason I was never really in a hurry to get a proper guest room in order. Awww now that’s two votes to keep the brass…decisions, decisions.
Julia Konya says
Oh wow, you got a lot done in the guest room.
Are you really 99.99% sure you want to change the color of the bar cart? I love it so much LOL, it’s awesome!
Shavonda says
Hi Julia!!! The reason I’m considering giving it a color change is because its like aweful faux brass. It’s the lightweight super shiny kind. It’s just kinda worn and dirty so you can’t actually tell that in the pictures. The luggage cart is the same way. Plus, you don’t think there are too many gold tones in the room? It’s like brass on top of brass on top of brass on top of the yellowish walls! I’m thinking it may be too much? What do u think?
