Treasure Hunting Thursdays: Are We There Yet?

Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday. I’m back with another recap of my latest treasure hunting excursion! So last week I decided Id get out of the house for a bit and go take a look around my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I had never been before, but Id been curious to see what it was all about.

I set out on the short 9 mile journey only to be distracted one too many times will en route. My first SQUIRREL!! moment came when I saw this just as I rounded my last turn

Well, hello there! Why yes, of course Id like to allow you to sidetrack me with your wondrous rows and rooms full of old stuff!

Ive said it once already, but Ill say it again! Holy Hell that’s a lot of brass! This baby was so beautiful to me, though. The onyx detailing was the icing on the super gaudy, overly pompous cake! The price tag for this: $2500

Ive been rally drawn to stools lately, so all of these immediately caught my eye. I love how the bottom two are of the same scale, but are totally different. I could easily see them as a set though with matching paint and a cool fabric to unify them. All three were in the $175/$200 price range.

Not really sure why, but I really, really loved this sofa. Ive never seen anything like it before. The dealer said its from the late 1800s. I was too afraid to look at the price tag on this one.

After leaving this little treasure trove I got back on track toward the ReStore. At this point I was less than 1/2 mile away when what have we here:

Well, hello there distraction #2. Ok, Ill bite! Lets see whatcha got. I figured anyplace with this guy standing guard outside just had to be good!

This place was jam packed with furniture!

My absolute favorite find was this old baby bath from Holland. I thought it was just wonderful and though I wouldn’t be using it as a baby bath, I could see it as the perfect planter to grow strawberries or lettuce or herbs on the deck! Sadly I had to leave it though. The $300 price tag was a no no.

After leaving I finally made it to my destination:

Immediately I spotted these beauties! Only $25 each!

No, I didnt get them, but man I wish I had. I just really didnt have anywhere for them to go.

I absolutely loved all the wonderful tile I found. This place had aisles of it and at only $1/sqft!! That’s crazy good. I’m definitely going to source them when we get ready to revamp the fireplace and bathrooms.

The ReStore really was amazing. It had so many great building materials and rock bottom prices. If you ha vent been to your local ReStore, I highly encourage you to pay them a visit when your planning your next project. Hopefully there’s a store near you.

After leaving the ReStore I spotted one more distraction:

Of course I went it. But there was waaaaay too much good stuff and was getting tired. Ill definitely be going back again soon.

So anybody been on any great treasure hunting adventures lately? Please tell me I’m not the only one who gets way to easily sidetracked when I spot a thrift shop or antique store on the side of the road.

I’ve never been to it! I should go but like you I will probably get distracted with other shops before I arrive at my destination ha!ha! 🙂

I love those lanterns. Seriously! You should have bought them LOL. Did you see what Kristin from the Hunted Interior did with a similar one? Love it so much!
Our Restore stinks! Prices are way to high.
