Hi Everyone!!
Happy Humpday!
I thought Id share with you guys a few new additions Ive managed to sneak into the house recently. If you’re part of my InstaFam you’ve seen most of these already. If you’re not part of my InstaFam, you totally should be. Its a constant party, I tell ya.
First up is this cute little vintage scale I found at one of my fav thrift stores for $4
This corner of the counters is now one of the happiest moments in my home.
I also picked up this “thing” on a recent trip to a vintage furniture store close to work. I believe it was around $8
I decided it needed to be a garden stool. The top was a bit scratched up so I gave it a couple coats of white paint (Rustoleum enamel, of course). I like the juxtaposition of the glossy new surface against the natural toned and worn in base. A huge thank you to all my Instagram friends who chimed in and help me decide on a color path for this piece.
I FINNAAALLLLY pulled this leggy lady out of the garage! I got it at a Goodwill outlet over a year ago for $15.
I’m not even gonna attempt to DIY this one. I know ZILCH about re upholstery, so I’m leaving this one up to the pros. I just have to find the perfect fabric. If you know me by now you know I’m looking for something fun and colorful and probably a tad obnoxious!
And my newest (as in 2 days ago) addition is this guy
I finally got my hands on this Docksta table. I really really really want an authentic vintage Saarinen tulip table, but your girl over here cant even afford to THINK about it, so I’m content with settling for the Ikea version until that day comes. I gotta say though, I was having a pretty hard time with the $199 price tag. Yes, its much easier on the wallet than a couple thousand, but it was still steep to me. I was hoping I could find someone selling it on CL one day. A lady was selling it for $100 and I was able to negotiate it down to $70. Now that’s a price I can get on board with! Plus it was in practically perfect condition. She was moving so she threw in the chairs too. I will definitely NOT be keeping them, but they’ll do until we get the permanent ones.
I had been wanting to create a game table area in our family room for a while and this table is just the perfect size for the back corner that wasn’t getting any real use.
Y’all know how much I hate wasted space, so I moved Naomi’s “man chair” to the other side of the couch and now we have the perfect place for the kids to do homework and for us to play Phase 10. We love that game!
Our next major furniture mission is to replace the couch with something more modern, and streamlined. Naomi absolutely will NOT let me touch “her chair” so I’ve got to work with it. Colorful pillows, accessories, and a great rug should hopefully help mask the fact that its a total eye sore and the bane of my existence not in keeping with the style we are going for;)
Our family room is a total workhorse and has 3 distinct zones now: work, play, and relax. Now I just gotta make it pretty (er).
So have you incorporated any new additions into your spaces lately? Until next time…..

I have been wanting to find a place for that Ikea table too! Can’t wait to see what fabric you’ll pick. Did you check on spoonflower for some cool “obnoxious” fabric 😉
Shavonda says
Hi Julia. I’ve never heard of spoonflower actually. Ill have to check them out. Thanks so much for the reference!

I just love all of your thrifty finds, you find some awesome stuff. The table is great and what a bargain. I have never played Phase 10 but my kids love it, I am more of a UNO person!
