Hi Everyone!
So I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m totally in love with the charcoal grey/white trim combo for house exteriors. I just think it works so well no matter what look your after, whether classic or contemporary. Throw in some black shutters, and/or a fun colored front door and its a total win.
“The One” is currently a less than desirable shade of faded yellow and it needs a bit of exterior woodwork replacement, so painting the exterior is pretty high up on our to do list once we become her new owners. We’ve driven through the neighborhood several times to check out the neighbors’ curb appeal and let’s just say Id love to be able to break up some of the tans and browns and offer a bit of fresh energy to the block. I’ve done a bit of research and discovered grey is a color that would have been seen on homes built in the early fifties, so that makes me happy. We want to honor as much of the history of the house as much as possible, while still adding in our own design aesthetic. We have the opportunity to really change the entire perception of the house from the street and we definitely want to give it a fresh new look.
So how bout you? Are you liking the color combo? Got any exterior painting plans of your own? Until next time…

Thanks for these! It’s about time to have my house painted again, and I wouldn’t have thought about grey until I saw these, now I’m thinking seriously about it! I want to leave my door white, but I have a set of shutters that could be a nice contrast color. Now, what to pick!?!

Sounds perfect! Especially if the neighborhood is a sea of beige – can’t go wrong with a charcoal/white combo!!

Love the combo so much that my friend, who wants to paint her house, was sent at least one of the above combos. I’d do it myself but we have a brick house and I am NOT painting it all! However…I do have a sunroom that may get some sprucing up since the previous owners painted the brick white (blah!). Maybe my shed can be my canvas for some charcoal… hmm.. Now I’m off to think about that! 🙂 Thanks for the eye candy!!

I totally love it too. A lot of the homes on the east coast have this color and it makes me think of vacation. So pretty.

One of my favorites by far. It just pairs with white and other colors so well! So excited for you to be in a home and to see more of you 🙂
