Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year my friends! I hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. I don’t know about you, but I’m super pumped to usher in 2015. I’m always eager to get a fresh start and see what each new day brings to the table. 2014 was such a great year, so I thought Id take a moment to reflect on all the exciting things that happened here at AHFOC last year, and share some goals for the New Year.
Lets start with the most amazing, exciting, I-still-cant-believe-that-ACTUALLY-happened-to-me experience: being featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.
It was such a treat and I’m still incredibly thankful for it. Being featured in a local magazine and on the local news wasn’t too shabby either!
2014 also brought some amazing brand collaboration opportunities. Working with the Home Depot on the Patio Style challenge and the Holiday style challenge was a blog dream come true.
I’m so grateful to be doing something I truly love and to be able to work with brands in a creative way. I never would’ve imagined in the moment I hit the publish button on my very first post that Id be where I am today. It’s a blessing and I’m happy I get to share in it with you all.
2014 was also a year of connections! I attended my first ever blog conference and got to meet so many other creatives that I’ve admired for so long.
Haven was a blast and Im happy to have made so many friends and established lifelong connections.
Probably the biggest thing that 2014 brought about was major change on the home front. We made the decision to sell our first house and take the plunge into downsized living. Our house sold in just under 2 weeks (Yikes) and with no new house on the horizon we settled into our temporary apartment while searching for our next adventure in homeownership.
After a frustrating home search we finally became the new owners of our little bungalow.
And how can I possibly forget to mention we welcomed a new member to the family
2014 was a bit of a whirlwind and we took some unexpected turns along the way. This year Im looking forward to bringing a bit more focus to things now that we’ve settled. We set some goals for 2014 that didn’t happen because of our decision to sell so I sat down to take stock at what my focus will be on for this year in terms of home and the blog
2015 HOME GOALS
Exterior: New fence, tree trimming and take out, debushing, planting gardens, irrigation system, paint the house
Interior: Finish kitchen reno, create an office space, new couch, finish master bedroom, window treatments throughout, finish dining room, overhaul hallway
The bungalow is a fixer upper and with that in mind there’s so much work we want to do with it, including eventually adding on a master bedroom and bath. This house is going to take years to get to where we want and there’s no rush for us to get there overnight.
2015 BLOG GOALS
Expand focus and introduce new content
Produce quality content
Nurture relationships/Quality collaborations
Improve photography
Blogging is my joy. I love it. It brings me so much happiness and saved me from a state of depression. I have a vision of what I want this space to become for me, and for you. This small list is a condensed view of what I’m focusing on in terms of the blog. The biggest change you’ll see coming up very soon is a new name and expanded focus.
I LOOOVE interior design/home décor/DIY and it will always be my number one love and primary focus here, BUT I came to realize there was so much of myself I wasn’t revealing and wasn’t posting about because I felt it wasn’t relevant to the focus of A Home Full Of Color . I started to feel like I was placed in a little bit of a box and I knew a change was needed. While I’m passionate about interiors and making a home, I’m also passionate about living a well-balanced and beautiful life. My life isn’t DIY and Home Décor all the time…I take that back, it sorta is ..BUT there are other things I’m just as passionate about. Fashion, beauty, wellbeing, travel, etc, are all things that occupy as much of my heart space as design does. I want to share that with you guys too without feeling like I’m cheating on or straying away from home making. So a new name and fresh look is coming soon and with that being said I hope you all still want to stick around.
Cheers to a New Year loves….
Until next time….

I too love color. My decor goal for 2015 is to introduce boho into my small apartment. I have been blogging for a long time, so I knew a long time ago I could not just talk about gardening and decor, so I share my life as well.
