Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday, and welcome to SG Style my loves! I hope you all had a great weekend. Im excited to be back up and running friends, so lets have a little chat about office spaces today, huh?
One of the few things on my 2015 Home Goals list was to create an office space for myself. Ive mentioned this before a couple months ago, but my current situation of the desk hanging out on a bench at the foot of the bed is so not working. Its just not practical. Its just not pretty. Its just not right. Its time to deal with this situation. Since we don’t have a room I can designate as an office in the bungalow, Ill be carving out a small section in the living room for it.
Integrating a workspace into a primary living space can be tricky, especially when there are space constraints. Its going to be important for me to make sure the end result looks intentional, stylish, and lends to the overall design of the room, and not so much like I just stuck a desk along the wall and called it a day. Its not about trying to hide the fact that the work space is there, because lets be honest, what’s the point? Its about embracing it and making work in a beautiful way. In my latest Houzz Ideabook I shared some of my picks for creating a chic and stylish work area within a small space, and Ill be using that as a base when creating my little nook. Meanwhile, I’ve come across some spaces that I think totally got it right.
What do you guys think? Are you ok with your workspace being integrated into your living area, or do you think they should be hidden away. Until next time…

P.S.-Everything from A Home Full Of Color has been transferred over, so feel free to poke around or head over to search if you’re looking for something specific. I guess I should say almost everything transferred over. I’m not quite sure if my email subscribers did? If you were with me via Bloglovin, hopefully this post made it to your inbox. All of my social media has been updated as well so with the exception of FB, you should see the update on those outlets as well.

I need mine to be hidden but maybe that’s because my office is my clutterroom too xD

It’s funny – I have a whole floor of the house I could use as office space but I much prefer having it as part of the main living area. I carved out a little space in the back of our family room to use as workspace and I love being there. Downside for me is that I’m right in the thick of it when my girls are home, but if I was on the third floor and they were home they’d come find me there anyway 🙂 You know I love that first purpley picture. SOOOOOO gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what you do!

Interestingly I did the same thing in our last house! We have a 4th bedroom that I could’ve claimed as mine, but I just found some space in our family room for the desk:)

I love all these spaces! The pink is so pretty and feminine!

Love the pink room too. I love the mix of colors and the way they positioned the desk in the space:)

Congrats on your new site! I love living rooms that are able to incorporate a desk in them too! Your living area is large enough that its going to look seamless and so pretty! Looking forward to seeing more of your plans

Thank you so much friend. Im really hoping it does integrate well. Im a little concerned about traffic flow, though, so finding a desk with the right dimensions will be key. I do thing incorporating a gallery wall above the desk will help it seem intentional too.

Came over from Bloglovin’! I love these office ideas. I’m working on mine right now so gobbling up every bit of inspiration. I have SO MUCH stuff that I need to keep on hand, such is the nature of my work, so I’ve got a whole room dedicated to the studio/office. Before, it was a desk in the living room, one in the bedroom, so I feel ya when it comes to making it function versus just “pretty”. This is REAL life!

Hi Gloria! I totally understand about having so much stuff. Im a bit worried about that too. I don’t have the luxury of tucking things away in this case so Ill be really really strict on what stays and is displayed. Good luck with pulling your space together. If you need any help or ideas im always here to help:)
