Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday loves. *Takes deep breath* Hi! My name is Shavonda, and I have rug commitment issues. *Breathes sigh of relief*.
Seriously guys. Its bad. I mean, this will be the third rug in less than 6 months that has found its way into our living room. It’s not that I have commitment issues, per se, I just hadn’t quite found the perfect fit. Lets take a little trip down memory lane shall we. We started off with the overdye
It was ok, but the color was a tad off for me. Then I was gifted this Safavieh number
Which I preferred over the last. I liked the pattern and the navy paired with the teal. But still something felt off. Then a few weeks ago I mentioned my recent obsession with tie dye and felt compelled to introduce some into our home somehow. I was really drawn to this rug I found on Rugs Direct. I had recently won an IG contest and had some shop credit so I thought Id take a chance with it and just see.
I love it. The yellow it’s exactly what this room needed. I love the way it looks with the teal walls, and it brings in a fresh fun accent to the space. Our room is really small and I think this rug is just what it needed to inject a bit of fun to the mix. As you all know, I love a lot of color in my interiors, even (and perhaps especially so) in those with limited space. This rug completely changes the entire feel of things in here now.
This one is definitely a winner and will be staying for sure. Still to come for this space…
– Find a better coffee table solution. Our current piece is massive in here. The size, scale, and style are all wrong. I’d love something smaller, round, and maybe with a bit of a global influence.
-New couch.
-New window treatments.
-Create an office/workspace along the wall between the built ins.
-Spruce up entry nook.
-Juju hat for above fireplace.
-Side tables.
-Replace French doors leading to side porch with a Dutch door.
-Chair for the corner next to bookcase and fireplace.
-Chair for next to sofa
-New media console or perhaps revamp current piece? (still up in the air)
-Lamps/Lighting
-Accessories
This list makes me want to hyperventilate. But it’ll get done. Bit by bit. Slowly but surely. In the meantime I can cross “find rug” off the list. Small victories!
Until next time..

Love the yellow and totally can’t wait to see the Juju hat, you know it

Me too. Im thinking fushia or hot pink. Will be so good with these teal walls. Plus if I ever relocate it to a more neutral space it’ll be the perfect pop of color.

LOVE the yellow!!! I currently have a can of yellow spray paint that needs a project. I also have a list of things I want to get done. How do tackle decide what to tackle first
Shavonda says
Hi Nataya! Thank you so much. What to tackle next is like the eternal struggle for me. Honestly im so all over the place that I usually just pick whatever speaks to me next. Like right now I KNOW I should be tackling my sons room, but the hallway bothers me more so its up next. 🙂

Ha! I only had the advantage of doing so because they’ve all been free! Naomi would not be having it if they weren’t:)
