The Not So Lonely Corner

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friyay friends!  So I’m still riding the wave of  treasure hunting streak awesomeness guys, and I’m pretty sure this may be the best find yet.

This corner has been lonely since the day we moved in, and Id been on the hunt for just the right thing to occupy it. I considered several options, (most recently a hanging chair), but when Naomi fell in love with our friends Eames style lounge some months ago I decided that would be the perfect choice.  I put it on my radar and began a daily search one.

These things are flippin pricey where we live (between $750-$4000 on average)…even the obvious knockoffs with lots of wear are priced over $500, so I honestly didn’t have high hopes of finding anything. When this beauty popped up in my search a couple of days ago for $300 I jumped on it. Immediately.

CL photos are notorious for being..lets just say…not the best quality, but the ad looked Ok enough for at least a look.  Once I saw it I was blown away by how gorgeous it was.  Immaculate condition, and vintage. #SOLD.  The seller’s house was actually all around FAB.  He had the most amazing midcentury pieces throughout and the design was just spectacular. But I digress.. This lounge is over 20 years old, but you can’t tell because it’s just beautiful.

I thought at BEST id find one in decent enough shape to live with it until we could spring for a recover job, but this thing is just gorgeous and the leather is so soft.  Naomi loves it. And I love that our corner is no longer lonely.

I’m now on the hunt for one more chair for this room.  I’ve narrowed it down to something natural or with caning. We’ll see what’s out there! Still left in this room: New sofa, vintage rug, chair for secondary seating, a floor lamp, a small task lamp, a leather Moroccan pouf, a Morccan wedding blanket, a juju hat, small side table for next to the lounge, an inlay credenza for the TV (or one I can revamp with an inlay stencil), and accessories. Slowly but surely..

Summer has officially kicked off around here guys.  Yesterday was the kids’ last day of school so it’s truly a happy Friday indeed! Happy weekend loves. Until next time…
