Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday sweet friends. Growing up we never lived in one place more that about 4 years at a time. My parents were both military so our lives were pretty nomadic. Once I joined the military after high school the moving continued. Id hear friends mention how they’d lived in the same place, often the same house, all their lives. This is a super foreign notion to me. I didn’t live near my grandparents or aunts and uncles. The friends we made in our travels became our family. I lived abroad for a bit as well and the experience of moving so often became so much of who I was, and am today.
I’ve lived in Sacramento for about 8 years now and its the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. I love it here. It’s the only place I’ve ever felt a sense of home. It feels good here and I plan to raise our children here through high school graduation. But my friends, my feet are itching. My need to experience new sights and sounds is kicking in big time. I’ve got a major case of wanderlust and my list of places I wanna visit grows longer by the day. Naomi and I are headed to Mexico in August so that will be a delight. But there’s one place I’m absolutely dying to get to…Marrakech.
This city yall. This city speaks to my soul. This place inspires me. I have to smell to smells. I have to touch all the things. I have to see the colors in all their beautiful richness up close. This is a city filled with pattern, and texture, and so much soul. This is a Shavonda city guys, and I have to make it there. I will one day.
Anyone else got a major case of wanderlust going on? What city is calling you? Until next time loves…

Oh hunny I hear ya!!! I moved so much when I was younger (not as a kid so much – a couple times then, but more when I moved out of my parents’ home) – and continued to not live anywhere longer than 3 years from the age of 20 until I was 36 (!). And this now is the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere since I was a kid – a full 6 years now. Crazy stuff. And I love it here and I feel happy and secure here but god I get the urge… that itch to get away, for a change of scenery. I feel ya. And hell yeah Morocco is on that list for sure!! We’re off to Menorca soon which I’m so looking forward to but yes, Marrakesh is totally up on that list, so so beautiful. xxx

I’m the type of person whose lived in one place my whole life and don’t itch to go anywhere else. But I visited Florida once and loved it. Haha. Marrakech looks like a really beautiful place though. I hope you go and take lots of pictures!

Marrakech is right at the top of my places to go list. The culture, colors, the markets, are all calling my name! I’ve been planning to do a Moroccan tablescape for a while to get me into the feel of things. Hope you get to go soon!

I think I would have to bring a container if I’d go to Morocco!
