Small Business Spotlight: Globe In

Hi Everyone!

Happy Tuesday friends.  The fact that I love supporting small businesses should come as no surprise to most of you. If you follow me on IG its something I talk about quite often. I realized I hadn’t really touched on it much here on the blog, so Ive decided to start a new series dedicated to them. Today I wanted to introduce you to a company I was recently introduced to: Globe In.

Globe In is a monthly subscription service in which each month you are sent a themed box full of goodies (similar to the jewelry and shoe subscription services of Rocksbox, and Shoe Dazzle). Globe In, however, is unique in that each basket is filled with items handcrafted by artisans from around the globe, and the baskets help support their craft. They also include a pamphlet with stories about how the items were made and about the hands that created them. For me this is like a double whammy of awesomeness because it’s basically a small business that supports the smallest of businesses.  I love that they feature worldwide goods from local basket weavers, growers, farmers, and makers. Plus I absolutely love the bohemian vibe of them. Globe In sent me their most recently themed artisan box to try out and share with you all.

The Bedroom Box  includes a bud vase from Nepal,  small handwoven bowl from Mexico, seahorse pillow from Guatemala, message oil candle from Ghana, and colorful palm leaf basket from Mexico as well. I loved reading the stories about the artisans that make them and how they came to be.

The bowl is the perfect size to corral necessities on at my beside and the small bud case is just right for a small clip of flowers.  I love that they don’t take up much space since my nightstand is on the small side.  The candle smells heavenly and relaxing.

Im using the palm leaf basket in my vanity area to hold my beauty tools, and I gifted the seahorse to my daughter.
