Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday friends and Happy December! The holidays are upon us guys which means tis the season for decking the halls. I’ll be sharing the bungalow spaces all decked out over the next week, starting today with our living room as part of Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Company’s Blogger Stylin Home Tours Series. Each season Lindsay hosts a fantastic group of bloggers to share their homes’ interiors, and this Christmas’s tours have been fabulous as always. I’m so happy to have been asked to join in again. If you are popping over from Dimples and Tangles…Welcome!! I absolutely adore Jennifer and actually have had the pleasure of meeting her in person. She’s the sweetest, and her home is always so beautiful..no matter the season. If you’re new here, Hi there! My name is Shavonda. Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at how we holiday here in our little bungalow.
Now I gotta be honest…I’m not that girl who gets antsy waiting to decorate for Christmas. I love this season and it truly is the most wonderful time of the year, but our family typically full-on decorates much closer to Christmas. In fact, we don’t even have our tree up yet! We always pick a live tree every year a few days before Christmas to enjoy through the New Year. But, that doesn’t mean I haven’t started adding touches of seasonal cheer to our home.
Most of you know when it comes to interiors, decorating, and design Im eclectic, a bit bohemian, and a total maximalist. I love alllll the things in my rooms. Lots of layers, texture, color, pattern, etc., so one would think that’s how I like to decorate for the holidays as well, right? Nope. Quite the opposite, actually. I usually take a rather minimalistic approach to holiday decorating. I live in sunny CA, and we never get the pleasure of a white winter, so I love to immolate the feel of a crisp, snowy holiday by adding lots of fresh evergreens to our home this time of year, including our tree. Bonus points for their amazing smell too! Boxwood wreaths, cypress and cedar garland, holy, and firs find their way into our home during the holidays…with just a tad bit of sparkle because it IS Christmastime right?! Welcome to our little boho holiday living room.
For the mantle I went with my fav fresh greens and candle filled vase combo with a simple felt ball garland gifted from Minted. This garland is a season favorite from Costco. Its $15.99 and you get a ton of it. I was able to use only 1 for both the mantle and window with some extra as well.
We don’t get snow, but it does get chilly and we love to enjoy a fire, so I like to create a cozy spot by the fireplace to enjoy the warmth and a cocoa.
Greens and bits of sparkle find their way around the entire room on table tops and small vignettes.
I really feel like keeping things simple and natural makes a big impact in our space.for
I hope you all enjoyed a view of our living space. Ill be adding a few more touches throughout the season. Next up along the tour is the Aniko over at Place of My Taste. I cant wait to see how she’s decorated her home for the holidays. Ill be back next week with more boho bungalow holiday décor. Have a fabulous weekend loves.
