Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday friends! Over the past couple weeks I’ve been sharing how we are spreading holiday cheer throughout the bungalow this year. So far we’ve seen the beginnings of our holiday living room, as well as the kitchen…including a special family tradition we enjoy every season .
We’ve been slowly adding holiday décor to our home bit by bit, so when one of my favorite brands, LeGrand, reached out to me with a fun seasonal challenge I was completely up for it. If you’ve been with me for a while, you know how much I love the Adorne line of switches, outlets, and wall plates. They turn the most utilitarian and overlooked element of the home into something of a showpiece with tons of options to incorporate your wall switches into a thoughtful and intentional part of a spaces design.
One of my favorite things to decorate for the holidays is our mantel. This year I decked it out with fresh garland and candles for a natural elegant look.
But when it comes to our mantel there’s a bit of an elephant in the room….the dated ugly outlets. They’re wonderful to have for function, but they’re such an eyesore. I try to hide and make them as unnoticeable as possible.
It was definitely time for a switch. For an everyday upgrade I swapped out the outlets and replaced the wall plates with pretty satin bronze ones to coincide with the peacock mirror.
For a some seasonal fun, I swapped out the bronze with custom wall plates to add a little festive touch and add to the other holiday décor.
The custom plates are so fun to work with because you can literally work with any medium to integrate them into your rooms. You can customize them with paint, wallpaper, fabric, wood…the choices are endless. The custom plates come with adhesive and a cover that you can either use and decorate with paint or fabric, or you can use it as I did as a template for your own medium.
I used red cardstock and nutcracker stickers to bring in a tad bit of whimsy and an ode to my kids. My son loooves nutcrackers and we usually integrate them into our holiday décor somehow every year.
Now ya’ll know I’m NOT crafty, but they were really easy to make. I simply used the plate cover as a template to cut out the cardstock.
Pulled off the backing on the plate to expose the adhesive
And attached the cardstock and stickers
Seriously, it doesn’t get much easier than that! We all know in design its all about the details, and I feel like this little detail really finishes off the space.
One of my favorite things about the Adorne line is the wall plates easily pop on and off so after the holidays Ill simply swap these back out for the bronze ones. The custom plates are reusable, too, so I can easily decorate with them next holiday season, or even have fun with them during Halloween or any other time for that matter. We’ll finally be putting up our tree this weekend, so Ill have that to share next week. Have a fabulous weekend friends. Until next time….

*This is not a sponsored post, however, I was provided the outlets and plates for this project from LeGrand . This is a brand that I love, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.*

I need details about whatever is hanging on the doorknob. And holy cow, I didn’t know these existed. Calculating how much it’ll be to replace all the visible outlets in my home and I’m still pretty certain it’s worth it.

I just found your blog. What an amazing style you have! I love that incredible mirror too. Have you noticed that the builders never get the wall plates on straight? That they’re always “askew?”
