Hi Everyone!
Happy Tuesday friends! Im so excited about today’s post guys! We’ve finally checked another thing off the ol to-do list and its making me all kinds of happy.
If you’ve been with me a while you know I’ve struggled with finding a good beside lighting solution for our master bedroom. Our space is suuuuuper limited so Ive been watching and waiting patiently for something I felt like would be both incredibly functional and also not bad to look. We have just 21″ on either side of the bed to work with, which meant I had to really think about size and scale for both our nightstands and lighting Let just get a bit of a refresher of the various bedside situations we’ve had going on since we moved in.
When we first moved in we used some Craigslist find campaing nightstands and a lamp we brought over from our last house. This wasnt a bad look by any means, but I felt like it could me a tad better…
A few months later I switched out the nightstand for an amazing inlay one I scored at ROSS and moved in my beloved jade lamp I found at the flea market. I loooooove this lamp guys. Its waaaaaay too big for this space but I didnt care. I love and I wanted it near me. So much so that I rocked it shadeless since I couldnt decide what color shade to pair it with.
But as much as I loved that damn lamp I knew it was eventually gonna have to go. I needed the space. And I knew the best way to capitalize on the limited room was with a wall sconce.
Ive been searching for one that would fit my speciffications for a while now and it hasnt been easy. I was looking for something pretty streamlined in terms of scale. It had to be a plug in because we cant hardwire anything into that back wall. I wanted it to be black. I also wanted something with some movement, so it either needed to swivel, have an adjustable head, or something along those lines. I also wasnt looking for statement lighting so I didnt want anything that was going to be a focal feature. It needed to be really functional and I also was hoping for something a bit more modern.
I almost gave up on looking when my friends from YLighting offered the opportunity to take a peek at thier options to see if anything fit the bill. Luckily they had just what we had been looking for!!! I took a peek at several of their options and decided on the Warren Sconce:
I loved that it seemed to check all the boxes, and we were so happy to discover they did!
Weve been enjoying these sconces for about a month now and we love them! They were super easy to install and have been just what weve needed for the space. I love they way they look and the surprise discovery that they come with a dimmer controler so you can adjust the light output!
The overall shape and unassuming look of them was just what I had in mind. We love the swivel feature of them paired with the fact that its a dimmer switch. This ESPECIALLY comes in handy at night when im working late or reading. I can swivel the fixture directly over my head and dim the lights so it creates almost like a private reading lamp. We are using LED lights in ours, but you could further control the light output by chosing a different bulb.
Im so happy with how these have added so much function to our room. This space is not our permanent master bedroom so having them has helped make our room feel less temporary. Plus if we ever decide to relocate them or use them elsewhere in the house its as easy as unscrewing the plate from the wall and done!
Now, off to tackle more of that todo list. Until next time friends…
**The wall sconces were provided to me for this collaboration. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
