Hi Everyone!
I’m back with part 2 of my design series where I’m sharing my experience trend spotting at High Point Market. As I mentioned in part 1 there were so many amazing details at every turn, but a few things caught my eye throughout many of the showrooms that I think we’ll see a lot of in the future
BYE BYE NEUTRALS….COLOR IS KING!
As you can probably imagine, this one makes me so so happy. As someone who has been on #teamwhiteandbright I loved seeing so much color in the showrooms. From furniture (particularly sofas), to wall coverings, to lighting, I think you can expect to see much more color injected into spaces. And its much more liveable than people assume.
This amazing sectional spotted at EJ Victor is the perfect example. A bold color but super functional design. The back and arms act as extra seating. You can get a TON od peoploe comfortably on this thing.
Almost every showroom we went to had furniture in lots of bold beautiful hues. I especially loved the seating and upholdtered accessories featured at Cisco Brothers
and the super colorful options at Dorel Home. Guys, this brand is INCREDIBLY affordable. We are talking under $500 for a convertable sofa! Perfect for a first time renter or someone in college. You can many of their pieces on Amazon.
Crypton makes fabrics in every color of the rainbow which makes it so so easy to customize pretty much any piece of furniture. Thibaut really really encourages livable lux color through their use of Crypton fabrics and bold wallcoverings.
These beautiful colored cabinets seen at Modern History were just a small glimpse into how their heirloom furniture pieces are getting fresh and modern updates.
Surya has even introduced colored hides to their lineup of offerings. This teal blue is incredible.
CURVES
Another detail I noticed across several of the brands that stood out to me was curved lines. From wood to metal to upholstery, don’t be surprised if you see rounded elements make a big appearance in the coming year.
Bernhardt killed it with the beautifully crafted curved pieces
Stickley, the industry leader of classic arts and crafts style and design, brought on a new lead designer who created the most gorgeous collection inspired by classic heavy mission style but softened the otherwise masculine nature of the wood with a curved silhouette.
Four Hands juxtaposing the hard metal material with a rounded shape. Loved this piece.
EJ Victor featured several statement curved pieces, including Kelly Wearstler’s newest collection.
And over at Universal Furniture we saw lots of beautiful collections in rattan and upholstery featuring curves lines.
Curved lines happen to be perfect for small spaces and cramped quarters so Im really happy to see this have a big moment.
Ill be back with part 3 wrapping up the High Point design trends tomorrow!
Until next time…
