Hi Everyone,
I’m back with the third and final post of my High Point Market design trend spotting series. I’ve already introduced you to the brands we had the opportunity to visit with, and shared two design trends I noticed while on the tour. Today I’ll be sharing a couple more and some final thoughts. So first up…
TEXTURE, TEXTURE, TEXTURE!
I would have to say probably the most prevalant theme across the board was texture! Soooo much beautiful and glorious texture. Whether it was in the form of carvings, the use of raw materials, or incorporating unexpected details, there was big focus on both tactile and visual textural moments.
LIVABLE LUXURY
Now aside from the introduction of more color, this one is the trend I’m most excited about. Its all about making luxe, high end design liveable for everyday at home. I saw this manifest in a few ways throughout the tours. Over at Thibaut wallpaper was the star…(you know how much I LOOOOVE wallaper) and there was even a dining table wrapped in a luxe grasscloth which made it ultra chic, but also ultra durable.
And Crypton’s durability is like no other. Wine, chocoolate, pets, and even curious toddlers are no match for the strength of Crypton. You can cover a sofa in the whitest, most sensitive of fabrics and it be able to withstand anything and everything.
(Kim Salmela for Norwalk)
Im a huge advocate of creating really beautiful design moments at home. Beyond the pages of your favorite shelter magazine. Beyond the Pinterest feed. Indulging in really lovely details like Modern History’s incredible heirloom antique furniture and lucite accents spotted at Aiden Gray are just so special and absolutely worth it.
High Point was an abolute dream and I coudn’t be happier to have had the opportunity to experience it the way I did. I hope you guys enjoyed following along on social media and that you enjoyed getting a glimpse into some of the trends I think will big in the coming months. Make sure you take a moment to check out the sponsors to see allllll the things.
Until next time friends….
