Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year friends! 2019 is officially underway and I can’t even believe how quickly 2018 flew by. It was a really really fantastic and eventful year for me and I’m hoping it set the tone for things to come in 2019. One of my favorite things about 2018 were the wonderful opportunities I had to travel and to partner with great brands, and I ended out the year last month with a trip to a local treasure: Natural Stone Design Gallery
Fresh off the heels of our One Room Challenge bathroom makeover and with tile still very much on my brain, I had the chance to tour the gallery and get an in depth look at allll the tile things!
Natural Stone Design Gallery has been a go to source in Sacramento for everything from luxury tile and stone, to unique and one of a kind tile since 1990. One of my favorite things about visiting showrooms is you get access to options beyond what you’d find in your average hardware store, and the gallery did not dissappoint. If you follow me on Instagram, then you got the chance to see my video tour in stories, which included a look at some of my favorite finds: tiles will lots texture and detail!
It comes as no surprise that I’m always drawn to interesting and bold details in spaces and I’m hoping to see people take bigger chances with tile this year–beyond the ever so popular (albeit classic) subway tile. Or if choosing something like a subway tile I’d love to see one with some texture. In fact, that’s the direction I’m going with the tile for our shower!
While touring the showroom I came across the perfect tile to complete our space: an elongated 3×12 black subway tile with an imperfect handscraped texture.
I loved it the moment I saw it so the gallery let me bring it home to see how it would be in the space: SOLD
Ok back to the gallery…in addition to the mass options for tile and stone in the 12,000 sqft showroom, they also offers slabs. I wasn’t aware of it until I was taken to an extension of the showroom.
Everything from granite to quartz in lots of colors and sizes, the options are limitless and there’s even a large As Is section which offers incredibly affordable slabs which would be perfect for anyone looking to save a bit while renovating. I believe everything in the As Is section is $10/sqft! I saw a few pieces I wanted to bring home on the spot!
I know it can sometimes seem intimidating to visit design showrooms, especially if you arent a designer, but Natural Stone Design Gallery is open and welcoming to everyone. It’s the perfect place for sourcing for any tile project and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. If you’re local I highly recommend you take some time for a visit (they are open Tuesday-Saturday). If you aren’t local to Sacramento I highly recommend you look into tile and design galleries in your area.
Until next time friends..
