Hi Everyone!
Happy Spring friends! It’s that time of year when everything and everyone is coming out of its winter slumber…including our homes. Summer may be my favorite season, but Spring is when the real magic happens. Outside things are sprouting up green and fresh and inside its all about cleaning and refreshing our spaces.
We keep our home nice and tidy on a daily basis, but I always give it a nice deep cleaning in Spring in preparation for that glorious warm weather. One area I focus on in particular are is hardwood floors. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the original wood floors we have here in #thecottagebungalow. They were a major selling point for us when we purchased our home and refinishing them was the very first thing we did to improve the house before we moved in.
They are over 70 years old and I always give extra attention in caring for them. I mean…the inlay corner detail! They really don’t make em like they used to. These floors see A LOT of traffic between the kids, Callie, and just daily use so I try to stay on top of keeping them looking good.
I’ve tried a few different things over the years to maintain them and I recently started using the Swiffer WetJet Wood cleaning system from Amazon. I really love it. It’s made it easy to keep the floors looking their best, plus I’ve found the formula is tough enough to get them super clean, yet gentle enough not to damage the finish. Super important.
One of the BEST things about downsized life and living in a small home is how much faster it is to clean house! I LOVE that it takes me just a couple of hours (if that) to clean the bungalow from top to bottom. That, paired with how easy it is to use the Swiffer WetJet, I’m able to get all the floors clean in about 15 minutes flat! Which means I can get to doing the other things I’d much rather be doing during the spring…outside digging in the garden:)
Have you started your Spring cleaning yet? If you’re looking for a new way to clean your wood floors you can find the Swiffer WetJet Wood on Amazon!
Until next time friends…
