Hi Everyone!
Today I have kind of a different, super random impromptu post that I’m excited to share with ya’ll! I was recently talking to my bestie, Carmeon, and we thought it may be fun to partner up and share what’s on our wish lists for our homes this year. I see a lot of these types of tag posts on YouTube with fashion and lifestyle bloggers sharing what their designer or wardrobe wish list items are for the year and we thought it may be fun to do a version of that for the home. Carmeon and I have partnered up on a post similar to this before where we shared our fave plants and care tips so we figured it was about time to do another one! We didn’t tell each other what’s on our lists and we have no idea what the other is going to share, so I’ll find out right alongside you all when I head over to her blog today.
My list has a mix of really simple, affordable things right alongside some larger more investment pieces that I’ve had my eye on for some time now. Alrighty…let’s get right to it. Here’s my list in no particular order:
Burlwood or Statement Media Console/Credenza
I’ve been actively on the hunt for a new media credenza for about a year and a half now and Im hoping to pull the trigger this year on one. The one we have now was a Marshall’s clearance find from quite a while ago. It was marked down because the doors were damaged and there is a tiny hairline crack in the marble detail across the front. I ended up just taking the doors off and its worked just fine for us all this time.
I am ready for something a bit different now since we are doing the living room makeover this year. I envision something a little larger, with fully enclosed storage, and I want more of a statement piece. This current one is very midcentury and that’s generally not my style. There are a couple of options that have caught my eye recently and I’m feeling like it will be between these two:
Yall know my LOVE for burlwood!!! I’ve been wanting something burl in our home for YEARS…ever since I regrettably got rid of my burlwood coffee table and this one from Crate and Barrel is the perfect size and scale so its a top contender. This is such a beautiful classic piece with an elevated more modern silhouette. I just love it.
The other one high on the list is this beauty from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. I LOOOVE the detailing in this piece as well as the rich walnut color, the size, and how the legs are shorter and closer to ground so you cant really see underneath it. This one would really make a statement in the space and compliment the lighter wood tones of the other pieces in the room.
I love them both equally and I have no idea how Im going to decide between them.
Bluetooth Record Player
We have a record player now, but id like to upgrade it. The one have is a 4 in 1 and its quite large. Like it plays cassette tapes and CD’s! Id love to go with something a bit smaller/sleeker and I’m looking for one with bluetooth so I can connect my Sonos speakers to it for better sound quality. I really like the look of this one
Vertigo Pendant
Ya’ll when I tell you I’ve coveted this darn light fixture for YEARRRRSSS. The way my love for this light is set up.
I just love every single thing about it. I love that its elegant and refined, yet a bit playful at the same time. It’s super versatile and looks great with many different interior styles. And it comes in tons of colors and finishes. I have a bit of a confession…I actually bought it a couple weeks ago! I really wanted it for our living room refresh so I ordered it during a Friends and Family sale and I can’t wait to install it! EEK! We are actually updating some electrical in the space in tandem with the kitchen renovation so I’m finally going to have line dropped to add overhead light in the room
Lolly Lolly Ceramics Mugs
Lissen! You wanna talk about something that’s hard as hell to get your hands on! Phew. Trying to get your hands on some Lolly Lolly Ceramics mugs is like trying to get your hands on the latest pair of Jordan 1’s during the SNKRS drop. It’s gonna take an act of Devine intervention. I started following Lalese on IG a little over a year ago and quickly fell in love with her and her beautiful ceramics. Her 1/100 series really is just so so good and she sells on Madewell too! I love everything she does and I’m hoping I can get my hands on a couple of her speckled mugs this year.
Art
Up til now I’ve focused all of my energy curating the foundational pieces of our homes decor: furniture, textiles, houseware essentials, etc. I haven’t really spent any time filling the walls with art (beyond mirrors and juju hats) and that is a big focus for me this year. I’ve been hesitant to add much art before because I was very much so still trying to determine what my style is, the things Im drawn to, and what I want the art to say about us. Over the last couple of years I’ve discovered some of the most amazing Black and POC artists and now I know exactly what I want for our spaces. I’m excited to start building a collection of unique and beautiful pieces that tell our stories and those of the artists who make them. Michael is also turning into a very talented photographer so I will definitely be hanging many of his pieces on the walls as well.
Royal Victorian Greenhouse
Ok so about this greenhouse situation. If you follow me on IG you would have witnessed the saga of us finding a super inexpensive metal hobby greenhouse on Craigslist brand new in the box for a steal and then painstakingly putting it together with the VERY difficult to understand instructions and then spray painting it black to give me the look of my dream Victorian glass greenhouses. Well, alllllll that damn work was for naught! The thing was pretty much a piece of crap from the moment it was erected. Lol. I almost immediately set in motion plans to replace it with the actual one I wanted but was being too frugal to buy. I was hoping I would get at least a couple of growing seasons out of it, but just a few weeks ago we had a freak winter wind and rain storm blow through with 70 mile an hour winds and it completely leveled the greenhouse. Pieces are scattered all over the yard. So it looks like Ill be needing to replace it sooner than anticipated. This time I’m taking my own advice to #buyoncebuywell and I’m investing in the Royal Victorian glass greenhouse of my gardening dreams.
I should say I’m investing in the greenhouse of my dreams for this house. The one I actually want is super fancy schmancy and major big bucks. It will be a pretty intense build so I want to reserve that for our forever home.
Mauviel Copper Cookware Set
*takes deep breath* Ah Mauviel! The epitome of excellence when it comes to copper cookware and my dream cookware set. Ya’ll know I’ve been cooking exclusively on copper pans for several years now and now that I’m super comfortable using it and can confidently say I’ll basically only ever cook on copper or cast iron for the rest of my life, I’m ready to upgrade and make the investment into a really really high quality set. Mauviel has been making copper cookware since 1830 and aside from vintage tin-lined French copper cookware it doesn’t get much better. This will be the last set of cookware I ever purchase for life so I want to make sure it’s heirloom quality and that it includes the most essential pieces. I’ll still sprinkle in vintage or specialty pieces here and there, but a good solid core set is a priority this year. Especially with the kitchen renovation. I personally love the bronze/brass handles, but I also have some vintage pieces that have the cast iron and I love them.
Louis Phillipe Gilt Leaner Mirror
I mean there’s nothing much to say about this one except that I really really really want it! Lol. THIS specific one. I know there are several similar styles, but I want this one in particular. The size, scale, finish, chunkier frame, just enough ornate detail…just everything. It’s perfect!
Ficus Audrey
It’s time for Fiona to be a big sister! I’ve been crushing on this plant for some time and I’m ready to commit.
Table Saw
This has been on my home wish list for a while now. I have every other saw except a table saw and I’m ready to add one to the tool collection. I really love all my Ryobi tools so Im sticking with it.
Alrighty friends! That’s it! My wish list of items I’m hoping to add to our home this year. Now head over to Carmeon’s page to see what’s on her list. I cant wait to see myself! Do you have anything you’ve got your sights on for your home in 2021? Until next time friends….

That vertigo pendant light is something else. I checked out the website and it is really versatile and I like the various colors. I don’t have a room for it now, but I hope I will in the future. Thanks for turning me onto this light.

Please leave some tips on copper cookware! I scored from a thrift shop a vintage 9.5” mauviel 9.5” sauté Pan (tin lined but in tact, though gently used) and I’m not sure what all to use it for or the best way. I mostly use it for things that are temperature sensitive since it conducts well. Haha I got this puppy for $30!!!!! I felt kind of bad, it was a dog shelter thrift shop, I should have give them more 🙂

I’m litterally gonna buy everything on this list except the table saw and greenhouse, and that’s just I own one, and don’t have the space for the other. Damn you have great taste!!!
