Domino Design Blog Awards: I Won!

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday friends.  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!  I was on a bit of a celebration high because of my recent announcement about the Domino Design Blog Awards!

If you follow me on IG youre already in the know, but I found out I won the Editors Pick/Modern Maverick award! I was and still am completely floored by the news.  Not only because we didnt even know this was even a category someone was being considered for (I was in the running for Best Small Space Blog), but also because I still cant believe that out of all the 40 plus amazing bloggers I was the one chosen! Ive been following so many of these incredibly talented individuals for years and draw so much inspiration from them.  To be alongside them and subsequently chosen by the editors of Domino is just….! I honestly have no words.  Im incredibly honored. A huge congratulations goes out to all the other winners too!

So now the fun part begins!! With the announcement of the results comes some pretty fantastic prizes, which were a total surprise becuase originally there werent prizes involved!  All of us will receive feature profiles on Domino over the next week so you can get to know us a bit better.  Im really really looking forward to learning a bit more about everyone. We also won a fly away trip vacation!  Im still waiting on more specific details about this, but Ill definitley be sharing it with you guys when I find out. In addition to the feature profiles and the fly away trip we’ve all been invited out to NYC for a special event to celebrate!!  You guys. IM SO EXCITED! Ive never been to NY before and the one place, other than Paris, Ive always wanted to  go my whole life is NYC!

Did I ever share with you guys about my dream of renting out the bungalow after our son graduates high school and moving to NYC for a year? No? Well, yeah its really a thing.  Im super obsessed and  pretty determined to make it happen, too.  Just ask Naomi. She’s sick of hearing about it. Needless to say this is a total dream come true for me.

At the end of the day YOU made this happen for me so  THANK YOU.  You guys are seriously so amazing and I’m just so overwhelmed on a daily basis by all the love you guys show me….here on the blog and through social media.  I recently went through a period of time where I considered walking away from it all…the blog, instagram, everything.  I started my blog 5 years ago for the love of sharing my passion for design and connecting with other design lovers alike.  And while that was the original intent I’ve grown to love also sharing my life and my story with you.  I’ve gotten to know you and have nurtured very real connections and friendships with you.  So while I may not always have it all together to make a beautiful post, this is truly what I love doing. I cant imagine NOT doing it, and I hope to make it an even bigger part of my life in the near future.  What a fantastic way to end the year!  I definitley didnt see this one coming!

All I have to say now is NYC here I come!!  You know Ill be sharing my trip and experience with you all daily on IG so make sure youre following me there.  I do have to figure out what the heck Im going to wear though.  I mean Im a girl who lives in CA and our winters are NOT NY winters to say the least.  Well whatever Im going to do Id better figure it out quick because I leave in 6 days!!
