Decor Obsession: Kids Art

Hi Everyone!

Happy Monday loves! 

For those of you who don’t know, I absolutely ADORE art. Much like my design style, I have a very very eclectic palate when it comes to they type and/or genre of art I’m drawn to.  I love everything from photo realism, to cubism, to abstract.  I hope to one day have a home with walls full of amazing pieces.  By the way, if anyone ever asks my favorite artist is Frida Kahlo.  I fell in love with her work in my art history class, and since I would have to sell a body part on the black market to be able to afford one of her pieces, I’ll just have to get my fill at the museum. 

One genre of art that I absolutely love seeing incorporated into spaces is kids art.  I mean, how awesome is it to see a seasoned artists commissioned work hanging alongside a masterpiece doodled by our smallest family members!  I constantly nurture my children’s love of art and am always eager to see what they come up with.    Gone are the days of the folder stuffed full of school art projects parents hold onto until who knows how long.  I say pick out your favs and give em a place in the spotlight.

Random Shavonda fact:  I believe art belongs on walls and pictures belong in frames on tables, desks, and shelves.  I know, I know, I’m sorry. Its just one of those things, I guess.  I honestly have no family pictures, school photos, baby pictures-nothing hanging on the walls.  It drives Naomi up the wall-no pun intended!
