Blogger Stylin Home Tours Fall 2015

Hi Everyone!

Well look who it is! Hello hello hello friends.  What has it been….like a month? More? Ive had an uber busy last leg of summer with family in town, and travel, and I owe you guys some major catch up.  But today I thought Id make my come back by ushering in the new season with a quick peek into the bungalow.

My sweet blog friend Lindsay over at The White Buffalo Styling Co is the fab host of this amazing lineup of bloggers and their beautiful homes.  I’m so happy and  honored to be part of it again. Fall is quickly becoming my favorite season. I always love to see how others spruce up their homes for it, and  there’s no better time for fantastic seasonal inspiration than during Blogger Stylin Home Tours week.

If you’re popping over from Michelle’s sweet home, Hi there!  Isn’t her home just lovely!?  So fresh and cozy. And I absolutely love her great outdoor space.  Perfect for those crisp fall nights, right! For those of you who are new here, my name is Shavonda, and my family and I are a year into downsized living.  Last August we ditched our large newer construction builder basic tract home in lieu of a 1940s cottage bungalow fixer upper half its size.  We’ve been slowly updating it and at the same time adjusting to our new life in smaller digs.  Literally every room in our home is “under construction”, but I did take a few moments to spruce up just a tad for the new season. Its still super hot in sunny California, but I still want to usher in the season a little, and for me that means adding layers of cozy with extra pillows, furs, and throws….oh and also sunflowers. Those too!

What’s this wall color in the bedroom Shavonda? Eggshell?
I had a crazy “I need change in my bedroom’ attack last night and I’m really liking the color of your walls 🙂

Hi Anja! Thank you so much. I actually don’t know what the color is. The color was here when we bought the house. Im sorry I couldn’t help sweets.

Oh that’s ok Shavonda! I appreciate your desire to help anyway!
At least I have a clear picture in my mind of the color I’m looking for, so the thing will go easier I hope 😀

        Be in touch!

Your cheery front door gets me every time – always kind of makes me want to feverishly paint over my black door! Love your home and how chic, stylish, and yet unpretentious it is. If only I lived close enough to pop over and join you in that gorgeous living room!

I’m almost done checking out the entire line up this week and I just can’t get over how much I love your home. The more I see it, the better it is. I feel like I’m a blog stalker (I’m not crazy, I swear!). I just love that your home is a realistic home and your whole idea of living smaller instead of everyone’s quest for a giant home. Plus, I just adore the craftsman style with all the details. I can’t wait to see your finished kitchen. I hope to some day be able to remodel ours but it’ll take awhile as we are going down to the studs with it, just like our bathroom remodel. Thanks for sharing your home!!!

    • Reply Shavonda September 29, 2015 at 12:46 AM

Thank you so much Megan. Your comments always brighten my day. Im so happy to have you along with me friend. Slow and steady wins the race my sure your remodels will be fab:) I love living small and now that I think of it, I owe you guys a one year check in post.
