Hi Everyone!!
Hola my loves! This past Saturday I attended a super fun event at my local West Elm store.
There was no way I was gonna miss anything involving DIY and West Elm!
Registration included everything needed to create your own graphic tray including the tray, chalkboard paint, metallic tape, a foam brush, pair of swanky gold scissors, and Erica Domesek’s new DIY filled book, P.S. You’re Invited…. This project was taken from the pages of the book.
There were four other people who attended the workshop as well and everyone came up with something unique and different. I stayed pretty true to the instructions, except I threw in some splatter for fun. It was really easy to do and we all had a great time.
The book is really cool and has a ton of fun and easy DIY’s in it.
I’ve already got my eye on one project I’m dye-ing to try! hahaha! No…not funny…not so much…ok.
This was the second event Ive attended at my local store and it was just as good as the first. You should find out when your nearest West Elm has events and workshops. Many of them are free! I cant wait to check out my next one.
Until next time…….

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research on this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such great information being shared freely out there.

your tray is very pretty Shavonda! 🙂 I wish our West Elm could be closer to home; they opened one at the west of the city and I live in the east side so I don’t go there too often but I will make sure to see if they have any DIY events like this one; it would be fun! & love the idea of dip-dye a rug! 🙂

What a great idea on the rugs…but knowing my luck someone would step on it with slightly wet socks and then it would bleed onto everything in my house! lol! Love the tray you made and how fun…wish I had a West Elm closer!
