Hi Everyone!
I’m so glad to be checking in with you guys, I’ve missed you.
Truth Moment: this past 30 days has been really really challenging. Between Naomi getting sick, the kids getting sicker, me getting strep throat, and work being, well…work, I’m just ready for a shift.
Last week I got a phone call I was not at all prepared for. My father had a stroke. I was immediately struck with an indescribable fear. It was like I had a moment where I was standing outside my body looking at myself and I couldn’t recognize who I was.
Within 24 hours, I was on a plane headed to Louisiana. It was a very emotional trip to say the least. It was the first time in years that I had been home and this was definitely NOT the reason I wanted to have a family reunion.
We were extremely lucky and equally blessed that he made it through. The road to recovery will be long and trying, but we are happy to see him live to one day tell the tale.
Here’s to hoping the tides will soon turn. Until next turn….

You just gave me the chills. This is one of my worst fears! My parents live so far away in Germany…
I’m glad your father is on the road to recovery and you were able to fly and see him right away. Hang in there! And I’m wishing you the best of luck that your tides will turn.

Glad your father is doing better. I can imagine how scary that must have been for your family. Hope you all are feeling better after being so sick.
