Ikea’s New Summer 2018 Line Has Me Like…

Happy Monday friends. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. So Ikea has released their Summer 2018 collection and Im really happy about it.

If you’ve been with me for a while you know how much I LOVE Ikea.  This is a brand I love and respect for many reasons, but mostly because of their approach to designing for the people. All people. I recently shared on IG that I was approached by them to be an Ikea Brand Ambassador this year and I couldn’t be more honored. When I got the email I was completely taken by surprise.  I actaully had to have Naomi read it just to confirm I wasn’t losing my mind.  I had no idea they even knew who I am, and to be given the opportunity to partner with them this year is just such SO HUGE and Im incredibly grateful for it.  I’ll be sharing more about it later, but for now I wanted to share my thoughts on the new pieces they are introducing for Summer.

Last year I was sooooo excited about the Jassa Collection  because it was perfectly bohemian and colorful and just right up my alley.  I was ecstatic to see all the different patterns and textures and the use of rattan in so many pieces.  The Jassa collection made you want to get out and explore.  It gave you wanderlust about distant lands and exotic places, while this year the vibe is much different.  The idea behind this collection is to evoke a “lets stay home this weekend!” or “how bout dinner outside tonight?” vibe.  Its all about entertaining friends and family at home and I’m totally on board.

This year my focus is less on our interior spaces and more on getting our exterior landscaping in order. Part of why we fell in love with this little bungalow of ours was the potential we saw in our outdoor space.  We could envision ourselves doing lots and lots of outdoor living in this home and I really want this to be the year we start doing it.  With that in mind, this new collection is just what the Dr. ordered, I love that this collection introduces simple pieces perfect for adding to what you already have. Its not the kind of collection that makes you want to throw away everything you own and start over.  I’ve been known to experience those feelings A MANY A DAY, trust me!  But, the pieces they have coming for this summer arent meant to do that.  They are chic and attainable. They arent fussy, rather, they are super happy and vibrant and totally evoke the easy going laid back spirit of summer.  Here are just a few of my fave picks from the collection. There really are so many more that I like though. You’ll definitley see some of these make their way into our home.
